Assess writing quality and detection results separately
An AI detection score is not a writing-quality score. Clear, grammatically correct writing can still be flagged, and using a particular editing tool does not predict the result. Review the feature used and the actual report; do not equate more conventional wording with AI authorship.

Can I polish with Grammarly first, then humanize with you?
You can finish any necessary rewriting and then check grammar, spelling and terminology. Distinguish corrections from generative rewriting, which changes the sentences again. Whatever order you choose, review the final text; no sequence guarantees an unchanged detection score.
Grammarly has an AI Humanizer feature - is that not built for this?
They offer one, but on the public benchmark data its behaviour looks closer to conservative polishing than structural rewriting. Judge it on your own text.
Can you fix my grammar while you are at it?
HumanPen does not provide a separate grammar-checking feature. Review the rewritten text for grammar, technical terminology and meaning before accepting it.
Will my paper end up sounding unprofessional?
